Welcome on our motorcycle Central Alps tour. In this tour we will ride the Italian and Swiss Alps. Different tradition, different languages, different food, different people. An interesting comparison between Italy and Swiss Alps and there is no better way to learn all this directly while traveling on the road. Be sure that one thing is common in those two countries are the great roads and Alpine mountain passes.  On the Italian side also we will enter in the “Trentino Alto Adige” be ready for a cultural shock, you would never believe that this region is an italian one.  

The highlight of this tours are the Dolomites mountains , a world heritage listed place. You will understand why many people from all around the world come to visit those mountains.

The most famous pass in the world is in this tour. Yes ladies and gentlemen,the Stelvio pass will be waiting for us.

Itinerary

Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the Central Alps, If you never had a chance to be there in real life you will never forget this experience, let the fun begin.

Day 1 -2

Meeting point at 9.00 am. Please be aware to arrive in Milan at least one day before the tour to allow a good rest before the start. Please book accordingly.

From Milan we will ride toward the Piedmont on the Maggiore Lake we will cross on a ferry to arrive at Domodossola province. Here we will stop for the night. On the next day we will have a beautiful day with 6 mountain passes all in Swiss to get back in Italy on the famous area of Valchiavenna. With the amazing food of the Valchiavenna as the highlight of the evening.

Day 3-4

We will ride back to Swiss and again Italy to climb up the more famous mountain pass of the world: “the amazing  Stelvio pass”. The Stelvio pass is like a motorcyclist monument be ready to meet quite a lot of other happy enthusiasts, just like us. We will also ride to other 6 mountain passes on the same day and we will arrive on Trentino Aldo-Adige. This region of Italy, is very beautiful and particular. We will understand why. On the day number four, we will hit the road to a World heritage place, the Dolomites. Sitting and admiring those giants will bring peace inside our souls. We could stay the all day to admire them and never been tired of.

Day 5-6

From Trentino Alto Adige through beautiful mountain passes we will enter in Veneto. Veneto is well known for its beautiful cities and tasty food and good wine.  Stop for the night will be the area nearby Asiago and Bassano del Grappa. Probably you already heard those names and yes is well known around the world for its tasty cheese, liquor and many other tasty products. On the last day a lot of fun roads and view of Garda and Iseo lake.

Day 7

For the ones who have rented the motorcycle we will hand back at the shop and we will say goodbye. If you will fly out of Milan on this day be sure your flight is later than 15.00 , just to be sure you will make it.

Accommodation

Accommodations in our Western Alps tour will vary from hotel in larger cities to bed-and-breakfasts, homestays and farmstays in the villages of the Alps (depending on availability). A farm stay is a working farm that has been adapted to welcome guests as a hotel. The food served in farm stays is homegrown, home-cooked and delicious. Farm stays are often located in rural and beautiful areas. Staying with locals is often the best way immerse yourself into a different culture.

How many “no riding days” are in the tour ? We will ride everyday  

-How many km do we ride daily ? We will ride 155 miles/day (250 km/day) as an average. Obviously some days we will ride more than that and some days we will ride less.

How much of motorcycle experience do I need ? You don’t need to be a pro rider to travel with us. You should, however, be an experience motorcyclist who is comfortable riding a motorcycle during a city’s rush hours as well as on small mountains roads. This will be a challenging, yet rewarding and definitely an enjoyable experience for you.

Is possible ride 2 up? Yes! You are welcome to travel with a companion. The passenger must be at least 12 years old. He/she should be able to place place both feet flat on the passenger foot pegs of the motorcycle. Riding 2 up requires more skill. The passenger should have experience traveling on the back of a motorcycle.

What about visas ? Usa, Canadian and Australians do not need a visa for Italy.

Which bag should i bring ? You should have a waterproof roll bag. Please be aware that your bag should be a good quality one. If you can’t pack all of your belongings in a 60 liters roll bag you are bringing far too much.

Can I rent the motorcycle gear ? Yes is possible to rent your motorcycle gear but we do not advice it. Much better to have your own which you are sure you are comfortable with.

What time should arrive at the first day ? Please be aware the meeting point will be at 9.00 am in Milan. Please be aware to arrive in Milan at least one day before the tour to allow a good rest before the start. Especially if you fly from far and have many hours flight or have big differences on time zones. Please book accordingly.
