In Italy, there are two main national sports: football and motorcycles. I inherited my passion for motorcycles from my grandfather, who used to be a racer in 1950’s. Both of my parents ride, so not surprisingly I started my riding career long before turning 14!
I remember when I was a kid my father used to take me to see the Superbike in Monza with his Honda 750 CB. Those were the best memories I had of my childhood.
Luigi, my father, who is now 68 years old still works full time as a mechanic, with over 54 years of experience. When I was a kid, engines were my toys. Thanks to him, I learned to be a skilled mechanic myself.

Alps are just a stone’s throw away from Milan, so as soon I had my motorcycle lycense I started to explore the Alps, a motorcycle paradise. Almost everyweekend of the riding season I was exploring a new mountain pass. Every time I wanted more and more till in jumped in my mind the idea of  travelling the world by motorcycle. After graduating from University with a degree in Sports, I started saving money by working as personal trainer 7 days/week, cutting out all the unnecessary expenses. A Motorcycle World Tour was a highly ambitious goal for a young guy, just an ordinary trainer. You have no idea how many people told me I was just dreaming!

A few years later, on April 4, 2011, I finally took off. My Motorcycle World Tour had commenced!

From the Italian Alps, I crossed Eastern Europe up to the Baltic Sea, then rode South through the Carpathian Mountains to the Balkans. I crossed Turkey from West to East and entered the Caucasus. I rode up to the Russian Urals and down to the Pamir Mountains, crossing Central Asia and a part of the Middle East. I spent another year exploring South-East Asia, including 4 months in Indonesia. Then, I went on a three-month ride in Australia, followed by taking a ship to Japan. I explored South Korea and then crossed all of Russia, from the Sakhalin Island to Saint Petersburg. I chose the longest and the most twisty route on the way back to Italy, following the North, West and South of Europe. After catching my breath at home, I spent 6 months touring North America.

Well over 3 years on the road, 53 countries, more than 150 000 km.
It was a huge amount of work that included:
– planning of the route
– taking care of the visas, permits, insurance, tickets and other paperwork
– motorcycle shippings and/or purchasing
– checking and fixing the motorcycle, oil and tire changing, etc.
– arranging accommodations and food
– various trouble shooting
And of course, it has been the most amazing, mind opening experience that simply changed my life and taught me that:
